Hogan by Karl Lagerfeld 2.0 (Review)

Since even seemed Karl Lagerfeld surprised that he would design for Hogan another collection, he had not planned: "At first, I must admit, I walked out of a unique co-branded collection, but apparently it was a success and Mr. Della Valle wanted another one. I think the first was to produce so pleasant, the reactions were pleasant, there was no drama, it was fun! "
And so has the fashion designers an autumn / winter collection athletic facility designed for Hogan, includes the jacket, T-shirts, jeans and shoes, which is centered on an abstract quilt patterns. The geometric lines with the game is a variation of his inspiration, a book about Italian winter clothes in the 20s. In the designs for Hogan, however, the template is not found. This is intentional, as the designer explains: "If I show you these pictures and the collection, then there is nothing similar to the other, you know, you have to catch a mood and adapt them to today.."

Karl Lagerfeld to partner with Hogan:
For a contemporary note, he gave the wintry material, consequently, a new attitude. "I wanted an abstract quilted fabric for quilting fabrics today are not only worn in winter sports. People wear it around the world on the road and thus the feeling of Chamonix, St. Moritz and Gstaad. Across the whole year, I must admit it's a little cooler give ", so Karl Lagerfeld on the benefits of the international optics and a new classic.
The winter collection will be as mundane as well as the selection of the personalities of the campaign images is taken. Among others, Karl Lagerfeld photographed Leigh Lezark, Elodie Bouchez, Kiera Chaplin, and the catwalk beauties Du Juan and Shu Pei. The choice of the Asian model is not an economic calculus, such as Karl Lagerfeld points out: "Today we must remember, know and recognize that China is important I think the women from this part of the world's very beautiful, educated and elegant, of course. . And not because China is a new market and all the nonsense - that we have previously heard of Japan No. It's because they embody a modern beauty. '!

Orrefors by Karl Lagerfeld

Karl Lagerfeld likes nothing more than expanding his modes of expression.
3 months ago, Karl Lagerfeld is releasing his first line of crystal.

The designer have collaborated Orrefors, a Swedish institution for over a century, carrying on the age-old tradition of hand-blown glass shaped by master artisans.
With its exquisite engravings, streamlined forms and colours ranging from delicate to rich, the Orrefors brand is one of the great symbols of Swedish design and luxury. It is a world-wide brand, gracing the finest tables such as the Swedish Royal Palace.

Karl Lagerfeld designed a collection in his own image: Clean-lined, subtle and functional.
The first members of the Lagerfeld crystal family are champagne flutes and coupes and wine, water and liqueur glasses. Transparent, black or milky white, sometimes engraved with the KL monogram, the series typifies the Karl Lagerfeld ethos of ultra-strict lines.

Based on the same principle, the collection also features a large round bowl, a rectangular vase and a cylindrical vase, each poised on four crystal globes on transparent platforms.
With its simple colour scale, its purity of lines and shapes, the flow of the material and the refinement of the details, each crystal contour of the Karl Lagerfeld series reflects timeless elegance. The collection bestows a new, harmonious and modern face on the century-old Orrefors expertise.

Karl at Le Web Conference 2011, Paris

Earlier this month in Paris, Le Web hosted the biggest tech conference in Europe attracting over 300 participants from 60 countries. The speakers included a star studded list of the tech world’s finest including, Google’s Eric Schmidt, Spotify founder Daniel Ek and Instagram’s Kevin Systorm.

This year, Le Web scored one of the biggest names in fashion as a speaker, legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld.

In the much anticipated interview, Karl Lagerfeld along with Net-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet, announced the launch of the new label ‘Karl’ which will be sold exclusively online at Net-a-Porter from January 2012.

In addition to the big announcement about his new line, the fashion icon gave an uncanny and entertaining view into his world:

At the beginning of the interview, Karl revealed his Apple fetish claiming to have an impressive collection of hundreds of iPods, 30-40 iPads and 4 iPhones!

He emphasized the iPad as an important tool, using it to create videos, sketch designs and jot down ideas. In the previous week alone he had used his iPad to film short advertisements for Chanel, where he is the Creative Director. Karl even gave the audience a  demonstration of how he sketches with the iPad, drafting a quick, yet impressive, self-portrait. He also showed a selfmade portrait of Steve Jobs.
See the complete interview down after the pictures.
